The first job I was offered was as an editorial assistant. I think it was the best thing for me, in terms of being a storyteller by nature, to have spent years being an editor because I learned so much from it.

Having been playing for ten years, seeing you outdo me this easily is unmotivating. I'm no prodigy like you are. I have no professional background like your family does. This feeling of envy is bittersweet, yet, I'm so proud of you.

You're not anyone's punching bag. As soon as they start treating you like that, show them your middle finger and walk away.

Banal words function as a feeble phenomena that fall into their own mental bogs of meaning.
