Our inability to see things that are right before our eyes, until they are pointed out to us, would be amusing if it were not at times so serious. We are coming, I think, to depend too much on being told and shown and taught, instead of using our own eyes and brains and inventive faculties, which are likely to be just as good as any other person's.

We do well to remember that the Bible has far more to say about how to live during the journey than about the ultimate destination.

A mans house is blown down by a storm. He needs to rebuild it again, with the damaged material he has... because that's all he has. He thinks long and hard about it. So this time what he does is... he rebuilds a solid foundation, a stronger one. He works long and hard and he works all by himself. He completes the house and then he puts up walls around it to shield it...  to protect it against any storm. The house is now no longer vunerable to any whirl wind or storm. Its strong now nd resillent and will never be destroyed again...
