The thing is, a lot of our vets come home and they feel displaced, and they don&#39;t feel like their voice matters, so for me to be a spokesman and have that honor to educate America about who we are and what we are, it&#39;s like I&#39;m doing my job.

It was probably right after I made my comeback - after retiring post-2008 Olympics - when I finally felt more at ease with my body. Being away from the sport helped put things in perspective.

There is something about gin, the tang in it of the deep wildwood, perhaps, that always makes me think of twilight and mists and dead maidens. Tonight it tinkled in my mouth like secret laughter.
