I like the idea of isolation, I like the idea of solitude. You can be connected and have a phone and still be lonely.

Animals are such agreeable friends―they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms.

I wish that they had the freedoms like the Japanese and the Koreans and the Mexicans and everybody else that has that freedom to come over here and play the game, because I know Cuba has a very strong baseball history.

People that worry about where they think they're going next generally don't end up where they think they're going. I just worry about what I'm doing now and try to make it good. When you've got too much of a master plan, it's going to fail.
