But no story is the same to us after a lapse of time— or rather, we who read it are no longer the same interpreters.

We get stuck in old thought and behavior patterns that may have been effective when we were twelve months or twelve years old, but now only serve to hold us back. And, while those around us may have no problem correcting our minor flaws, they let the big ones slide, because it would mean attacking who we are.

Reading about the response of people in stories, plays, poems, helps us to respond more courageously and openly at our own moments of turning.

I will be the happiest being when I will make anybody feel grateful for my presence in his life
