There are distinct duties of a poet laureate. I plan a reading series at the Library of Congress and advise the librarian. The rest is how I want to promote poetry.

It&#39;s an incredible con job when you think about it, to believe something now in exchange for something after death. Even corporations with their reward systems don&#39;t try to make it posthumous.

The present is only faced in any generation by the artist.

Don't blame me for who I am today.
