Whenever it poured like this, Max felt as if time was pausing. It was like a cease-fire during which you could stop whatever you were doing and just stand by a window for hours, watching the performance, an endless curtain of tears falling from heaven.

When you play guard, you&#39;re not going to block a lot of shots. Inside, you&#39;re going to block shots.

Even when you&#39;re making a movie about life, death is a presence, and I guess it&#39;s part of my dramatic viewpoint. I&#39;m not sure why exactly. Maybe I&#39;m drawn to it as a story element.
