You are not the product of your surroundings. You, as an individual, are in control of your life...what you do in it at least. Your setting does not create you, it influences you.. It builds your character, it doesn't build you as a character. It gives you experiences and knowledge, not limits to what you can do and succeed. Do not live by the myth that you are a product of your environment. You are more complexly a product of the motivations and choices you choose for yourself. So...do not live by the standards your society has. Set your own, and set them high
